My name is Rebecca Hall and I am the new language assistant here at SBSZ Jena! I will be working at the school till the end of May and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to everyone. I am a 20 year old student from the UK and I study German and History at the University of Leeds, in the north of England. Although I was born in Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland, I have lived in a small village near York since I was 3 years old. I come from a large family and I have 4 younger sisters, but sadly no pets. I am studying German because I am particularly interested in German culture and history. My favourite periods of German history include the 19th Century and the divided Germany (1948-89). I have visited Germany 5 times before, but Thürigen is my favouite region. My hobbies include riding my bicycle, jogging, walking, and reading. I prefer to read non-fiction books, such as Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, andGoodnight Mr Tom. My favourite German texts include the plays of Bertold Brecht and Jeder Stirbt für sich Allein by Hans Fallada. If you would like the opportunity of learning and practicing English with a native speaker, then you can visit me in room 01.01.16 between the hours of 13:15 and 15:00 every Tuesday, starting on the 27.09.17. See you then!
